The Central Jersey Woodworkers Association normally meets monthly on the second Wednesday of the month (except for July and August) from 7:00PM to 10:00PM at the Old Brick Reformed Church on Route 520 in Marlboro NJ. We welcome new members and guests.

Membership

The Central Jersey Woodworkers Association is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization of woodworkers founded for the purpose of providing a resource to the community for the promotion of woodworking and woodworking education at all levels of experience, sharing of information about woodworking techniques, tools, and sources for supplies, and facilitating the exchange of ideas with fellow woodworkers.

We always welcome new members to our club.  As a member you will enjoy all of the benefits described above with the additonal perks found on our members only area; discounts for lumber, tools and hardware, access to our book and multimedia library, group builds, and educational seminars.

April 9th Meeting

Long time club member Steve Altman will be our feature presenter. Steve will talk about his journey in WW from starting in a professional cabinet shop to now building high end unique beautiful boxes.  Steve is always an entertaining speaker, so this will be a presentation not to miss.

And long time member Marc Gaertner will be following Steve’s talk, showing some jigs and fixtures that he uses often and find very useful.  The picture below is a router base that’s perfect for flushing up solid edging  around a veneer panel.  He also has a website that shows past projects.  www.marcgaertner.com

March 12, 2025 Meeting

We will feature two builds.  Professional Craftsman and CJWA Member John Tomaino will highlight a Wall Unit he built for a customer to house media and memorabilia, adding a nice touch of character to an otherwise large and empty wall.

Member Bob Emmons will share his latest build, a custom sideboard design that will find a home in his family room.  Made from quarter sawn sycamore, snakewood, soon to be ebonized walnut, ebony, and mother of pearl, this piece has has taken the better part of a year and has brought many new woodworking challenges and techniques into his craft.

February 12, 2025 Meeting **Notice- due to the weather this meeting will be remote on Zoom- Please check your email for Zoom details***

Our presenter this month will be past club President Matt Kestenbaum. A few years ago Matt moved to Bucks County, PA. He has been incredibly busy since then, setting up a new shop and having the house remodeled, basically from the floor up. In the process, Matt designed and built most of the cabinetry for the new house along with a beautiful custom Cherry Kitchen. The talk will include a shop tour along with the process Matt came up with to efficiently build custom cabinets on large scale.

January 8, 2025 our guest presenter will beNick Martier.  Nick is a local woodworker working out of his studio in Bristol, PA.  With the help of his wife Kristen, two children and dog, each member of the family does their part in what Nick calls a family business. November 13, 2024 Meeting

We have a wonderful meeting planned for next Wednesday, November 13 at 7:00PM,  featuring 3 excellent works from our members!
Jim Braun will bring his finished cherry sideboard in featuring Kumiko decorative elements in the door panels.  Kumiko is the art of cutting, hand planing and fitting thin slats of wood into patterns using pressure only, without adhesives. 

 
Paul Webber will showcase his custom couch potato table utilizing the CNC router with colored epoxy for decorative inlay.  This table will hold all your essentials when viewing your favorite tv shows.  

 
Tim Brosnan will share his candle stand build with us. He built two, one of Cherry and the other in Walnut and was an expansion of his skills on the lathe.
